124 – Wakenny. KOA. Overnighter.
123 – Kansas City (MO). KC East Oak Grove KOA. Overnighter. First take-out in a very long time – Arthur Bryant’s BBQ (good ribs, okay brisket)
122 – St Louis. 370 Lakeside Park and RV Campground. Overnighter. Nice city park. Graham visited his friend from NASA.
121 – Nashville. Safe Harbor. Back again. Had site #33 this time. Next time #41? Found several trails near the dam and the river downstream. Suzanne and Rio were interviewed by the local Channel 5 news team on our journey and how we were dealing with the social distancing and the re-opening of Tennessee. Suzanne was quoted in their social media page and ended up on the evening news. Celebrated Mother’s Day. Weather was warm for a few days, but cooler, windy and wet other days. Bought a sour mash whiskey from Greenbriar Distillery.
120 – Atlanta. Holiday Harbor Marina and Resort. The marina was the main business. Loved our site near a cove, but the other sites were crowded by boaters and their cars. Facilities were rather run-down. They appeared to be building a new bathhouse. Visited a local park on the other side of the lake – really nice trail. Graham visited with his friend from NASA for a few hours – practicing social distancing.
119 – Savannah. Creekfire RV Campground. Had planned to stay @ KOA, but decided to stay for a month to ride out the COVID-19 virus apex. Cancelled reservations in Jeckyll Island as well – will need to go back. Florida is screening visitors from NY and LA causing back-ups on I10 and I95. Creekfire really ramping up the infrastructure. The lake was really nice. They opened up the amenities our last weekend. Lots of weekend warriors from GA and neighboring states. Savannah was really nice. Tybee island was okay. Visited Hilton Head, SC for a day. Liked the Hilton Head Harbor RV and Marina, but really liked the pricey Hilton Head Motorcoach RV Resort near Harbor Town. Saw the boats that Graham was going to intern during the summer of 2019. Bought coffee from Black Rifle Roasting Coffee.
