42 – Orange Grove RV Park. Nice transition RV park near Bakersfield.
41 – Paso Robles. Visited Morro Bay, Solvang, Cambria and San Simeon (saw Elephant Seals). Really good wineries in the area as well as areas south. Visited local Firestone Walker brewery, Tobin James winery and Eberle winery. Played pickle ball with local club in Paso Robles (they were very strong players); Stayed at new Cava Robles RV park on Hwy46 – really nice.
Visited Panama for vacation. Stayed with Suzanne’s parents for a few days.
40 – Desert Hot Springs KOA where we did some small hikes and enjoyed local hot mineral baths
39 – River Breeze RV Resort; visited with Suzanne’s Aunt & Uncle in Quartzite, went to RV Show in Quartzite, visited Lake Havasu & Yuma, checked-out several BLM sites for future boondocking, surprised how much agriculture we found in the desert along the Colorado River
38 – The Springs in the desert and Julian in the mountains. Met up with friends. Great apple cider and pie in Julian. Enjoyed Avery’s metal sculptures. Had a good lunch in Indio.
37 – Chula Vista RV & Marina Resort. Stayed an extra week after we heard that the place was shutting down in a few weeks. Really a shame that the Port Authority is developing the area into a convention center. Met several nice couples. Went to several happy hours and football game parties.
Sad to drop off our youngest son @ the San Diego airport. He celebrated his 21st Birthday back @ school in NYC.
Put on shorts, t-shirts and sandals for the first time in several months – nice beaches and hiking trails
Enjoyed visiting Coronado, Mission Bay, Old Town, Balboa Park, Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff, Del Mar, Gas Light and Miramar.
Loved the The Taco Stand & Richard Walker’s Pancake House; Ballast Point Brewery, Viewing Point Brewery and Cutwater Distillery
36 – Carpinteria State Park for a night. We loved listening to the waves and being so close to the ocean – dry camping – sites with hookups were very tight
