New Orleans to Nashville

  • 60 & 61 – Grand Ole RV Park & Safe Harbor RV Park. Grand Ole RV Park has good prices – nightly music on the side porch. Safe Harbor is a beautiful resort on the lake east of town. Both outside of town. First good for Nissan Stadium, second good for day trips into downtown. Daily live music. People were nice @ Grand Ole RV Park. Harder to meet people @ Safe Harbor – especially with the rain. Met Graham for three-nights. First night: Ate and toured South 12th street: Urban Grub, walked and had coffee nearby. Subaru was hit and rear car door panel damaged. 2nd day/night: Car tour of Belmeade area. Custom cocktails @ Attaboy speakeasy. Visited Broadway for live music: Roberts, Rippeys, Tootsies. Third day/night: Visited Green Briar distillery then lunch @ Hattie B’s for Hot Chicken – long wait in line. Went to live radio show @ Grand Ole Opry and visited Gaylords Opryland Hotel – very impressive – adult version of rainforest cafe under huge atrium. Visited town of Franklin – very nice place – location of major civil war battles – ate at Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant. 4-day CMAFest @ Nissan Stadium – in the rain – at night! Free televised concert outside of Tootsies before CMAFest start – had drinks and snacks @ Honky Tonk Central. Listened to Blue Grass music @ The Station Inn – Sunday night is a free jam session – this night was special since they were saying goodbye to a long-term member who passed away. Lunch on our last day @ Loveless Cafe outside of Nashville – really good Southern Comfort food. Drivers in Nashville are crazy and scary!
  • 59 – South Birmingham RV Park. Nice over night stay.
  • 58 – Fort Morgan RV Park. On the bay with dock. Rustic. Lots of shade trees. Nice dog beach nearby. Quiet. 20-30 minute drive to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. New tires, from Mavis tires, for Subaru (had leak in old stem; made drive to Nashville a little stressful for Graham). Saw Thomas, Dustin and Russell @ The Wharf – hot and humid. Terrible cell coverage. Drinks at Florabama’s – big music venue (cover charge). Ate at Moe’s Original BBQ (live music). Very busy area during Memorial Day. Cannot see beach very much due to hotels, condos, apartments, music venues, restaurants, … lots of boating.
  • 57 – Gulf Beach RV Resort. Across from beaches. Relatively new place after being built in 2017 after Hurricane. Enjoyed Slap your Mamas BBQ (live music). Shaggy’s restaurant looks good too. Good dog beach south @ Ocean Beach.
