247 – The Reef. Good campground with 50-amps. Brought lots of bottled water. We had a partial ocean view. We were a little farther from the group than we would have liked, but not too bad. We had two dinners @ the wrecked, food and drinks were okay and a little bit expensive. Missed dinner at the higher scale restaurant. There were a few vendors that we bought stuff. Maria have us massages. Went to Sam’s Club and Super Ley for food and bottled water – no problems. Local burritos not very good, but the tamales were good. Made reservations with the group, this time water front, for 2022. Weather was a little windy for the first few days, but temps in the 80s most of the two weeks. Tides were pretty significant over the rocks. Went fishing twice, but had to wait for low tide to retrieve my lures and hooks. Played games most days. Mike and Gary brought inflatible kayaks and sups.
Had the MH bumper and corners fixed and re-painted. Did not use the local service for wash and wax.
The group likes Flavios for first day lunch. Better restaurants included La Cuerva and The Mermaid. The restaurant on the hill had great views, but dinner was okay. Pot luck meals every other night. Visited Rodeo drive for shopping – did not make it to the Malecon this trip. Bought flash frozen shrimp. Suzanne went shopping @ xyz.
Rio had three seizures starting on our 4th night. Went to Dr Adrian Sixto for exam and blood tests. He thought Rio either had epilepsy or a tumor. We received meds. Fortunately, Rio’s seizures stopped, but his physical strength was lessened. He became wobbly and dazed due to seizures and meds. Side effects seemed to lessen, but Rio not quite the same. Did not feel comfortable leaving Rio alone at night and Rio was restless with the group at night. We took Lila to get additional antibiotics. We liked the Vet.
Trip back across the border was uneventful.
246 – Need to visit Sofia’s Mexican restaurant in Gila Bend next visit. Met the rest of the caravan – Gary, Pat, Ed, Donna, Gene and Sheila. Caravan thru the border – no serious inspection for the RV, but minor inspection of the jeep. Mike and Sue got a ticket in Sonoyta – really need to go slow and watch the stop signs. Uneventful drive to Puerto Penasco. Got mexican insurance, thru AAA, for visit to Mexico.
245 – Sans End. Basic CG on the Cali side of the Arizona border. Stayed a couple of nights. Did not use the bathhouse. Met Sue, Mike, Rusty and Sharon. Went to dinner @ Da Boyz Italian restaurant downtown – really good ice burg salad and lasagna. Got money, thorn resistant bike tubes, propane, groceries and shorts for our trip to Mexico.
244 – KOA. 1-night stay. Basic CG. Bathhouse was okay.
243 – Wine Country RV Resort. Nice CG, but a little older than Cava. Nice bathhouse. Met Susan and Sam, whom had to cancel in Leavenworth, for a couple of days – had a couple of nice meals. Went to four wineries: Halter Ranch, Niner, Jada and Calcareous – enjoyed Niner and Calcareous the most.
242 – Coyote Valley. Stayed at the original part of the park – will try to get into the new part of the park which has bigger sites and amenities. Had to lock up the bikes in the clubhouse. Rode the bikes along a really nice and long trail – Suz’s rear tire got a puncture. Had dinner with Todd and Nancy @ their house. Met Mike and Michelle Lee for lunch @ Luna Mexican Kitchen. Went sailing with Mike, Marsha and Jimmie on Grace out of the Redwood City marina – also had lunch at Mike and Marsha’s house. Took Tiger, Cindy and Cody to dinner @ Bai Tong. Visited with Camaro – started process to get the Camaro repaired – eventually sold the Camaro to people in Gilroy that the Teerlinks know. Went with Jimmie to see latest James Bond movie in Dolby. Had lunch with Suz’s parents @ Pia’s Kitchen. Cleaned up the boat – took a couple of hours.
241 – Pleasanton Fairgrounds. Basic county campground. Main bathhouse was closed, so had to use the south CG bathrooms – okay. Great seeing Suz’s parents again. Took them to lunch @ Similan Thai Cuisine. Met them, our friend Jimmie joined us, for Costco pizza @ local park. Cleaned part of their roof and drains and sky lights. Had a good dinner @ their house.
240 – Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Very basic county campground. Did not use the facilities. Great dinner with Vicki and Dave @ Willi’s wine bar. Have not seen these friends for 25 or so years. Road from I-5 to I-101 was very windy, steep and narrow – will consider taking long route down to Petaluma next time.
239 – JGW RV Park. Nice 1-night stay. Nice showers. Near I-5.
238 – Bill & Liz (and Eva). Had a great time visiting for a few days. Their homestead had a lot of improvements since last year. Their friends, Jay and Adriana, were staying there as well. Got to meet Gus the new rescue dog from Houston. Also, got to experience the new chickens and ducks. Went to Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards – good wines. Ate @ Backside Brewing Company.
237 – Pheasant Ridge RV Park. Arrived a day early so we could take the kitties to Vetco for shots. Lower site this time. Sites are nice and larger than most campgrounds. FHUs. Good cell and dish service – cable is available. Bathhouse is really nice, same for laundry. Has pool. Took to kitties to Vetco for rabies and de-wormer – need for Mexico trip – rabies only good for one-year – will need to get a booster before Canada else September re-entry could be a problem. Weather was sunny and warm on arrival, but rainy for a couple of days – changed our plans for visiting Deb, Mark and Rose. Unfortunately, Lila’s scab rubbed off and wound is still there with ooze.
