Suz’s brother and family stayed for a couple of days. Enjoyed spending time with Suz’s parents. Celebrated early christmas with present exchange with boys the morning of the 23rd. Snowed on and off – at times heavily. We cleared their drive-way at least three times. The ice and snow caused problems for Rio’s right leg where the growth is located – went to store and bought him booties. We flew Graham into Reno with the return flight from Palm Springs to Oakland – as a result we searched for a rack for the jeep roof – found a great place called Roof Attack – bought towers, cross-bars and the medium size roof rack – got cargo net @ Auto Zone. Went with Cameron to Deadline escape room in South Reno – got destroyed. Enjoyed it so much, we went back the next day with Cameron and Graham. Went on a couple of hikes. Went to dinner @ Da’Boyz again – downtown – the food @ the Prison Brewery did not look that great. Had good coffee @ Sunshine Cafe and Cafecito. Fixed Suz’s rear tire – took a while to figure out how to fix the specialized tires.
Went to Ironwood for Rio and Lila visit. Rio was doing much better. Lila needed anti-biotics in case we took her to Reno. Met Dr Lou who suggested we test Lila’s body for cancer and consider leg amputation. We did the xray and blood work and discovered that Lila’s cancer had not spread. We will take her to Reno and try to get her surgery scheduled.
252 – Rancho Sedona. Back again to celebrate Suzanne’s birthday. Staying for 12-nights this trip. Nice deep site. Took a while to get dish signal. Good cell coverage. Bath house is good. Dinner @ Mariposa – the soup and desert was good, the entrees were just okay. Breakfast and dinner @ The Pump House (birthday dinner was really good; breakfast was okay due to portions being reheated. Birthday breakfast @ Indian Gardens Cafe and Market. Wine bar @ Decanter. Wine tasting in Cottonwood (Chateau Tumbleweed and Southwest Wine Center (wine school)). Good snacks @ Crema Craft Cafe – need to look @ Colt 804 Grill and Violette’s Bakery Cafe). Went on multiple hikes in the area – had to take it easy due to Rio, Suzanne and John all had some walking issues. Farmer’s market – bought Mediterranean food. Got dinner @ Elote which really came recommended. Got baked goods at Leylas. Sedona was beautiful – found downtown Cottonwood to be worth visiting again – like Bocce and Strada. Rio seems to be doing better. Lila’s ulcers have gotten worse – decided to share Rio’s vet visit in Yuma with Lila. Missing iPostal1 letters from Yuma safely arrived).
251 – Points of Rocks RV Park (#47). Nice park in the rocks near the two local lakes. Sites are located on hill sites. Basic CG. Nice bath houses. Good cell coverage. Able to get dish service. Temps went from cooler to cold (below freezing towards end of week) throughout the week. Graham joined us for a week as we celebrated Thanksgiving. Nice area – liked downtown area. Dinner @ El Gato Azul was somewhat disappointing – food was on cold side. Very nice TG dinner @ The Palace Saloon – Suz made a very nice breakfast of Frittata and Brie pastry. Nice lite lunch and coffee @ the Raven. Took Graham to the Haunted Hamburger in Jerome – the day was a little long for Rio. Coffee @ Method Coffee & Wild Iris. Went on hikes in the local area. Took drive up and around Thumb Butte with Graham and Rio – Rio has had a couple of good short hikes but has been a little sore later that day. Got refills for meds we got in Puerto Penasco and also got new prescription for more aggressive drugs. Rio had teeth chattering, although somewhat mild, for 2-days. Moved some of the drugs to bed time. Lila slept a lot, eating the same, but not as hungry as usual, wanting less attention.
