      • 58 – Fort Morgan RV Park, Gulf Shores area. On the bay with dock. Rustic. Lots of shade trees. Biting flies were nasty. Hot & Humid. Nice dog beach nearby. Quiet. 20-30 minute drive to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.

      • 59 – South Birmingham RV Park, Birmbingham. Nice over night stay.
  • Arizona
    • Destination
      • 45 – Rincon East RV Resort, Tucson. Nice park. Lots of activities. Very close to eastern parks. Met lots of very nice people. Our Canadian friends stay here for the winter. Might visit Palm Creek in Casa Grande next winter.

      • 44- Mesa Spirit, Mesa. Close to many activities. A lot of park homes. Got stuck next to busy street so very noisy.
    • Layover
      • 39 – River Breeze (near Ehrenberg, close to Cali border), A lot of boondocking nearby and Quartzsite. Not many restaurants or stores nearby.

      • 37 – Chula Vista RV & Marina Resort, South San Diego
      • 20 – Emerald Desert RV Park (South of Palm Springs, Palm Desert
      • 21- Joshua Tree National Park – book early if you have bigger RV; dry camping, bring lots of water
      • 41- Cava Robles, Paso Robles. Newer RV park, part of Sun Resorts
      • 15 – Pismo Coast Village (near Pismo Beach) – beach and town access walking
      • 16 – San Clemente State Beach (near San Clemente) – full hookups
      • 38 – The Springs at Borrego (near Borrego Springs). Very nice place. Not many restaurants or shops nearby. They are known for golfing. Have pickle-ball.

      • 40/43 – Desert Hot Springs and Joshua Tree KOA (Desert Hot Springs) – nice place, local hot mineral hot tubs, pickle ball
    • Layover
      • 36 – Carpinteria State Park for a night.
      • 41 – Casa De Fruta RV Park (near Hollister) – good place to stay for a few days as well – close proximity to local wineries and wildlife areas; reasonable drive to Monterey, Capitola and Santa Cruz
      • 29 – Durango RV Park (Red Bluff). Nice park. Near Chico.
      • 23/89 – Friendly RV Park (Weed). Owners are nice. Nice place.
      • 18/42 – Orange Grove RV Park (near Bakersfield). Nice and clean.

      • 22 – Pismo Dunes RV Park (near Pismo Beach) – good backup
      • 12 – Trinity River RV Park (near Lewiston) – has potential given area, but needs major make-over

      • 65 – Holly Lake Campground near Bethany Beach. Remote CG inland between Rehoboth and Bethany beaches. Very much like state campground – lots of permanent and seasonal trailers – heavily wooded and roads were sand and dirt and bouncy
  • Idaho

      • 86 – Camp Coeur D’Alene. Nice campground. The pull-thrus were buddy sites on the hill. Free firewood, but the fire pits were too close to the RVs
  • Louisiana
    • Destination
      • 56 – Pontchartrain Landing RV Park, New Orleans. Nice park with some sites facing canal. Industrial area. About 15-30 minutes from French Quarter
    • Definitely
      • 55 – Frenchmen’s Wilderness RV Park, Breaux Bridge. Nice owners. People seemed nice. Near swamps. Good nearby restaurants.
      • 54 – Sam Houston Jones State Park, Lake Charles. Very cool park surrounded by a river and swamp
  • Michigan
    • Definitely
      • 71 – Krystal Lake Campground, near Frankemuth. Nice resort with huge ponds in a big horseshoe. Sites somewhat primitive, but some sites have nice trees and view of the ponds. Lots of people swimming and kayaking on the ponds. Very family friendly
      • 74 – Pictured Rock RV Park near the town of Christmas & Munising. Nice place but will be better once landscaped. Plan ahead and get RV park next to water nearby. Had to move sites on 3rd night
      • 73 – Straits State Park, near Mackinac Island. Nice campground at the northern base of the Mackinac Bridge
      • 72 – Traverse Bay RV Park, near Traverse City. Probably one of the nicest RV parks we have stayed at. Very expensive, sites privately owned, pretty ponds and landscaping

      • 75 – Hancock Recreational Area Campground – across river from Houghton – nice place but only 30-amp for our site (#15) but no water or sewer @ site
  • Minnesota
    • Destination
      • 77 – Pines of Kabetogama. Nice campground. Most RVs on bluff overlooking bay. Sites 6/8/10 had awesome views. Bathrooms in trailer, but nice. Road to sites was difficult and steep. Laundry expensive. Enjoyed a few nights enjoying the water with the large fire pits and chairs
  • Mississippi

      • 57 – Gulf Beach RV Resort, Gulfport. Across from beaches. Relatively new place after being built in 2017 after Hurricane
  • Montana
    • Definitely
      • 84 – West Glacier KOA. Very nice RV park five miles from the Glacier NP west entrance.
    • Maybe
      • 83 – Jim & Mary’s RV Park, Missoula. Nice park off Hwy 200 – a little noisy
    • Layover
      • 85 – Big Sky Brewing Co, Missoula. First visit with Harvest Hosts
      • 81 – Holiday KOA, Butte. Many sites very close; although, we have a nice big site near the pond
      • 82 – Koa, Billings. Okay – next to the highway
  • New Mexico
    • Definitely
      • 46 – Las Cruces KOA. On Hill overlooking town. Pull-in site was awesome.
    • Maybe
      • 47 – Carlsbad KOA. Nice resort. Far from town of Carlsbad and the National Park.
  • New Jersey
    • Destination
      • 66 – Beachcomber Campground, Cape May. Lots of amenities, especially for kids, big lake and beach, lots of park homes, crowded over 4th of July. Expensive like most Cape May CGs – heavily wooded with narrow rows
  • New York
    • Definitely
      • 69 – Branches Grand Island, near Niagara Falls. Open area – nice place but simple. Fishing ponds. Lots of family activities. Decided to stay on US side and travel west via Ohio due to concerns over customs
      • 68 – Pinecreek Campground, near Ithaca. Wide-open campground. Verizon struggling in area. Purchased week-long WiFi access. Ithaca hills and downtown are nice. People seem friendly
  • North Carolina

      • 62 – Mamma Gerties, Asheville
    • Maybe
      • 62 – KOA West, Asheville
      • 63 – Lake Gaston RV & Camping Resort. Thousand Trails. Bought southern region to get into site. More like a state campground than Thousand Trails. Nice lake. Not many restaurants nearby.
  • North Dakota

      • 79 – General Sibley Campground, Bismarck. Nice campground – most sides have plenty of room with some sites grass and gravel others developed. Electric only
      • 78 – Lindenwood Campground, Fargo. City park campground – nice park. Rather small and crowded – next to highway
      • 80 – Medora Campground. Sites are tight
  • Ohio

      • 70 – KOA Campground, Streetsboro. One of the nicest KOAs. Nice tree-lined sites with ponds on one side.

      • 28 – Emigrant Lake County Park (near Ashland) – full hookups
      • 11 – Harris Beach State Park (near Brookings) – full hookups
      • 127 – Olde Stone RV Park (near McMinnville)
      • 105 – RV Resort at Cannon Beach (near Cannon Beach) – all about destination

      • 6/24 – Deerwood RV Park (near Springfield/Eugene)
      • 31 – McMinnville, OR (Olde Stone RV Park) 
      • 34/88 – Pheasant Ridge RV Park (Wilsonville)
      • 30 – 7 Feathers RV Park (north of Grants Pass)

      • 35 – Southern Oregon County Park (near Medsford) – good stop over with full hookups)

      • 25 – Astoria Seaside KOA (near Astoria) – KOA resort: first time, great for kids, a little rustic
      • 10 – Port of Newport (near Newport). City owned marina. They have full-hookups, but we boondocked.
  • Pennsylvania
    • Maybe
      • 67 – Camp Charles, Stroudsburg. Nice couple running campground. Mostly seasonal. In big field near tent campers. Short hills. Lots of trees. Many indoor/outdoor family resorts. Stroudsburg is a nice little town
  • Tennessee
    • Definitely
      • 60 – Safe Harbor RV Park, southeast Nashville. Beautiful resort on the lake east of town. Outside of town. Good for day trips into downtown. Harder to meet people @ Safe Harbor – especially with the rain
      • 61 – Two Rivers Landing, Sevierville. Very nice pull-in site on the river

      • 60 – Grand Ole RV Park, north of Nashville has good prices – nightly music. Outside of town. Good for Nissan Stadium. Daily live music. People were nice.
  • Texas
    • Destination
      • 49 – Maverick RV Resort, Lajitas. Beautiful area. Friendly people. Great staff. Part of Lajitas Golf Resort. Though isolated. 17 miles from Terlingua and 50 or so miles to Big Bend National Park entrance.
    • Definitely
      • 51 – Greenlake RV Park, San Antonio. Relatively new RV resort. First thunderstorm, especially in Central Texas!
      • 52 – Lone Star RV Resort & McKinney Falls State Park, near Austin. Sun Resorts recently purchased Lone Star and it is being renovated. Heard that a new park is opening soon North-west of Austin in Hill Country. McKinney Falls is very nice with big sites – interesting that the park is surrounded by major development. 
      • 53 – Sand Piper RV Resort, Galveston Island. Small place. Right next to Stewart Beach and Rio could visit the beach on leash

      • 64 – North Bay Shore Camping resort, near Virginia Beach. Water surrounded the CG… had park homes and seasonal campers with their boats. Wooded but open

      • 32 – Glen Ayre (near Hoodsport) – great views of Hood Canal, close access to SE entrances of the Olympic Rain Forest, Gig Harbor, Poulsbo, Port Townsend and Mt Rainier
      • 33 – Lake Pleasant RV Park (Bothell) – close access to Woodinville, Snoqualmie, Widbey Island, Seattle, Puget Sound area
      • 26 – Salt Creek County RV Park (near Port Angeles) – great views of Vancouver Island, close access to NE entrances to the Olympic Rain Forest, Port Angeles, Port Townsend, local islands and Puget Sound

      • 87 – Blue Valley RV, near Walla Walla. Nice campground.

      • 76 – Keher RV Park, City of Ashland Park. Nice park with views of water (FCFS)
