473 – Emerald RV Resort. Back again. SL and cell service good, but 2.4ghz seemed to have some interference and poor performance at times. Good bath house. One small jacuzzi tub. Convenient location for many places in the area. Went on a walk along a golf course and washout. Great lunch at Mole Mexican Kitchen. Coffee and cat visit at Frisky Business Springs Cat Cafe – was good seeing the 15 or so cats. Went to tree lighting ceremony in Rancho Mirage. Good ice cream at Handel’s homemade ice cream. Went to Xmas parade in Palm Springs.
Lots of new and deferred medical visits – both received new PCPs as well as getting covid and flu shots. Wagner Mobile RV visited us to help with passenger slide, door and front grill.
472 – Palm RV Resort. Back again. Site 218 back-in site. SL and cell service good. Great bath house. Great pool and jacuzzi. Enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner at the resort. Rode bikes along the river and canals near downtown. Watched the movie Wicked at the local downtown theatre. Good ice cream at Moos Ice Cream. Okay breakfast burritos at Jector’s Burritos. Went back to Dirty South BBQ on Saturday for great brisket and really good ribs – listened to live music.
Suz and John went to Dr. Yasmin for teeth cleaning – John had to come back later for a gum graft – took advantage for staying the full week. Roberts came to the site for wash n wax. Picked up new plumbing parts from Amazon and ACE Hardware.
471 – KOA. Back again. PT site. SL and cellular service good. Bath house good. Really good breakfast at Baja Cafe. Went to Barrio Bread for my yearly visit. Also, went to Dolce Pastello for our traditional slice of Tres Leche cake. Good tacos at Juanitos.
470 – KOA. Back again. One of the pull-in sites looking at the mountain views. FHU sites. Bath house has been upgraded since last visit. Thought I had re-booked Hacienda RV Resort – they did not have our reservation – got a good site last minute here at the KOA. The bottom screws for the Vista door got looser, stopping the screen door from opening far enough – was able to fix the problem by grabbing the main door.
469 – Fort Stockton RV Resort. Back again. Really basic sites. Forgot about Hill Top Rv Resort further down the interstate. Long detour off I 10 on north side of San Antonio.
468 – Alamo KOA. Really nice PT site, 50-amps, but no sewer, next to the bike path. Good bath house. Good 17 mile bike ride around various parks. Good BBQ at BBQ Life. Drove downtown to the river park. Really good pastries at La Panaderia Bakery and Cafe. Drinks at Prost . Really good dinner at La Fonda On Main.
467 – Escapees RV Resort. Back-in site. FHUs. SL okay, cellular okay. Nice bath house. Good coffee and pastries at Stellas Bakery = 2x. Good tacos and sandwiches at Luling Smoke BBQ and Taquaria. Good dinner at Katie’s Cafe. Rained a lot on Saturday, part of Sunday and part of Monday.
- Camp EZ RV – replaced rear AC unit and had them do yearly inspection – open item is the rod in the hot water heater and front grill
- Became Texas residency in Livingston, Polk county. Vehicle inspection, voter registration, vehicle registration and driver’s license
- Switched John’s medicare to Texas
- Signed up Suz for medicare medigap in Texas
- Started process of moving financials to Texas – changed insurance from Farmers and Foremost to State Farm except boat. Our plan to go with Progressive fell apart due to windshield claims on the Jeep in 2023/24.

466 – Grand Ecore. Really nice COE or government run park. Good SL service, but okay cellular service. Road our bikes around the park and visitors center. Great visit to the town of Natchidoches on the river. Good coffee at Storybrew cafe. Watched Veternan’s Day celebration in town. The town was setting up decorations for xmas – a lot of stores with xmas stuff. Good bike ride around park.

464 – Harrison Bay SP. Really nice site on the water. FHUs. Good SL service, cellular service was spartan but good. Good visit with Sam, Susan and Pearl. Stayed a couple of extra days due to maintenance on the RV and Jeep. A couple of great dinners at Sam n Susan’s house in Chattanooga. They took us up to Lookout Mountain for a really nice visit at Rock City garden, then historic lookout monument, then a good dinner at the Boat House restaurant. Also, had a good dinner at Sidetrack. Had a great bike ride from local park to historic part of Chattanooga.
- Windshield wipers disintegrated as we arrived in Tennessee – had to stay a couple of extra days to find new wipers – RV brands 31” did not fit well, changed to auto wipers 29.5” instead
- Oil change and filters on the Vista and Jeep at Sam’s garage
- Sam completed the new tie down design for the chassis battery
- Jeep battery had problems starting – disconnected negative terminal cable between 2nd aux battery and main battery, Sam was able to jumpstart the battery – bought a 2000 amp battery charger at auto store.

463 – Kentucky Horse Farm. FHUs. 50-amps. Good Bath house. Decided to stay a couple of extra days – decided to skip Knoxville. Enjoyed the national horse show. Good visit with Buffalo Trace distillery – hard hat tour was great and free. Missed first reservation with Four Roses, but came back a couple of days later. Went into Lexington for a great taco dinner at Agave and Rye. Good bakery and coffee at Wiltshire Pantry in Louisville – walked the downtown area. Great cuban dinner in NuLu district in Louisville at La Bodeguita De Mima then good drinks at speak easy called Lou Lou on Market. Bought baked items at Midway Bakery in Midway. Really good bike ride, about 20 miles or so, and a good visit to the West 6th Brewery in Lexington – bike trail went thru mostly horse farms, but some highway segments.
462 – The Outpost. Back-in site. Good bath house. SL was good, cellular service not good. Good drive thru MD and WV. Had food truck dinner and live music at the campground. Visited several areas of the New River Gorge NP. Fayetteville was small, but nice. Several coffee and restaurants were closed. Good dinner at Pies and Pints. Fall colours continued.
Not certain, but the rear AC stopped cooling – the first AC unit was replaced in Washington state in 2021.
461 – Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina. Back-in site – right on the water. Picked up Graham at Rocket Lab in Middle River. Graham took us to Baltimore for a good dinner at Forge. Graham stayed the night. Took Graham back to Baltimore for great coffee and pastries at Cafe Dear Leon before dropping him off at the train station. Received really bad news about our dear friend Frantz who is terminal – we met Frantz and Peg in Key West in 2021. We will miss him. Took toll roads due to schedule – even then it was a challenging day due to roads near big cities like NYC, et al. Dropped off ballots at the Post Office.
460 – Interlake RV Park. Back again. Met with Patricia. Had a good dinner at Aroi Thai. Had ballots forwarded to Patricia. Really long drive – interstate until last segment which was alot of rural mountain roads. Walked around Rhinebeck again. Went for coffee at Taste Budds Chocolate and Coffee in a nearby Redhook. Took toll roads due to schedule. Fall colours continued.
459 – Augusta Gardiner KOA. First day back in USA – went thru border check-point just fine. Fall colours continued.
458 – Ole Foggy Bottom Distillery. Harvest Hosts. Dry camping. Had drinks. Last night in Canada. Fall colours continued.
457 – Cabot Trails Baddeck Campground. Moved to back-in site – did not like the assigned PT site. They upgraded us to 50-amps with water and sewer. Okay drive to Sydney to pickup tickets for Celtic Colours. Rained hard with very dark skies from Sydney. Bath house was good. SL good, celluar was okay. Visited multiple areas to see the fall colours – unfortunately, it rained quite a bit.
456 – Mira River Provincial Park. Moved to a different back-in site. 30-amps and water. Bath house was okay. Not many campers this time of year. SL was good, celluar was okay. Visited Fortress in Louisbourg – very interesting comparison with the Citadel in Halifax. Visited local light house. Heavy downpour and wind the first night.
455 – Battery Provincial Park. Back-in site. View of Bay. 30-amp with water – water pressure was low at times. Good bath house. Really nice campground. SL good, open site. Cell was just okay. Visited the canal and light house in St Peters. Visited various light houses and coves in the area on Isle Madame. Got a scone at Arichat – their expresso machine was broken. John caught Suzanne’s cold.
454 – Halifax West KOA. PT site. 30-amp and water – water was somewhat low and muddy upon check-out. Bath house was generally good. Used sewer site behind us. Campground has a lot of potential, but maintenance is somewhat lacking. Trees had turned colours. Drove into Halifax water front area. Met a Doug and Julie from the states – they were staying at the KOA as well. Had a great visit and tour at the Citadel – good dinner and live music at The old triangle irish alehouse. Drove out to Cape Split Provincial Park and the general area – great wine tasting at the 1365 Church St Winery. Went to the Grand Pre historic site – learned about the Acadians. Went back to ride our ebikes on the rail trail. Good coffee and pastries at Charts Cafe. Drove out to Green Oaks for a great tidal bore rafting trip – was a really wild ride over a multiple hours.
John drove the Vista and Jeep without Suzanne – Suzanne flew back from her short trip to San Francisco to visit her parents – she had a good visit with our son Graham as well. Suzanne came back with a cold.
453 – Peggy’s Cove. Site 34. Back-in site with great views of the bay, 30-amp and sewer. Bath house was good. Drove out to Peggy’s Cove and the surrounding area – bought coffee in town. Good traditional dinner at Cafe L’Acadie – meat pie and rappie pie. Good dinner at a new restaurant called Bubba Magoos and Bistro. Drove out to Lunenburg for a nice visit – walked around the historic downtown area. Good drinks and food at Lighthouse Brewery. Nice drive back to Malones Bay then Peggy’s Cove. Bought lobster and oysters from local lobster pound – tasted really good.
Drove Suzanne to the airport in Halifax for 6 am flight to SFO to visit her parents.
452 – Glooscap Park Campground. Back-in site – great view of bay. 30-amp site with water. SL was good, cellular was not good. Bath house was okay. Long drive from PEI. Visited multiple light houses and Partridge Island. Great visit to FORCE to learn about the tidal surge power initiative. Good drinks at Two Islands Brewing Co.
451 – Twin Shores. Really nice secluded site with great views of the local bay. SL was really good, cellular service continued to be poor. Another short drive. Continued visits to local light houses, coves and other places. PEI is mostly agriculture lands – famous for their PEI potatoes.
450 – Cornwall KOA. Really nice site on the water. SL was really good, cellular service continued to be poor. Short drive. Visited local Charlottetown for walk and meal.
449 – Lord Selkirk. Grass site – really could not see the water too well. Long drive from Nova Scotia – first day in PEI. Many restaurants were shutting down for the season. Saw lots of light houses, coves and scenery.
448 – Inverness Beach RV. Back-in, 50-amps 3-way. Facing ocean. Bath house was good. SL worked well, cellular was okay. Drove separately, partially due to close proximity as well wanting to focus on RV – stopped at a few outlooks along the way. Beautiful day. Visited local beach near the golf course, drove down to Mabou bay – good music and food at the Red Shoe.
Spent more time working on getting the battery compartment more secure – removed more broken bolt and tie-down as well as getting the 2nd tie-down bolted down. Will need to find a 3rd tie-down in the next few towns.
447 – Waves End. Site 86. Back-in, 30-amps and water. Facing ocean. SL worked well, celluar was okay. Nice drive today along the Cabot Trail. Good dinner at L’abri cafe.
Drove separately due to hills. Stopped at a couple of lookouts. Heard the sounds again. At one overlook, the ignition slipped temp into ACC position, the right passenger slide started moving outwards, able to get closed. At campground, same thing happened, but could not get the slide closed, when I tried open the slide, the rear slide tried to open. Discovered that the 2nd and 3rd tie-downs were damaged and the chassis battery was moving around – secured the battery for the next campground which is close.
446 – Hideway Campground. Site 60. Back-in. 3-way 30 amps. Site on open area on a shelf. Site points south. SL worked well, cellular was good as well. Bath house was good, cost money to use showers. Drive from North Sydney was a little challenging – roads were narrow and steep in some places. Big storm hit 2nd night. Visited Neil’s Harbor and Dingwall on first day. Visited Bay Saint Lawrence and Meat Cove for day trip. Visited local scotish store, indoor farmer’s market and had a nice lunch at Morrisons. Big storm on our 2nd night – rain was not too bad, but the wind was big.
445 – Good ferry ride from Argentia – Felix survived the 16-hour trip – departure at 5 pm and arrived 9 am. Good dinner on board. Nice 2-person berth on board.
Heard a sound like a thunk as the RV managed certain curves and turns – need to monitor.
444 – Pippys Campground. Pull-thru site. 3-way 50-amps. Bath house was okay. Campground located inside the town. Went back to Water St to visit the walking mall. Visited Qidi Vidi harbor – had a nice lunch at the brewery. Visited Signal Hill and the Lighthouse – met Sable the newfie. Went to Paradise for good ice cream.
443 – La Manche Prov Park. Back-in site, 30-amps only. Water not at site, suggested to boil. Bath house was standard. Met our friends M and M downtown on Water St then met up at Christian’s Pub to get screeched – had a great time. Good pastries at Rocket’s Bakery. Visited Tors Cove, Witless Bay and Bays Bull to look around. Drove down to St Mary’s to see the lower head lands – long day.
442 – Lockston Path Prov Park.
441 – Newman Sound campground. Site 35. 30-amp only back-in site. Dump station and fresh water station. Bath house was good, but water pressure was low. Very nice national park campground next to the water. SL was good, facing SE with dish point north. Cellular did not work. Rained quite a bit from our last location. Visited Blue hill and Ochre Hill observation hills. Also visited Sandy Cove and Salvage. New friends Madeline and Michelle joined us at our site for two dinners, wine and discussions. Woke up with major pulled muscle on upper left calf – not sure how it happened – was fine before sitting down to watch TV.
440 – Dildo Run Provincial Park. Site 34, 50-amp and water site. Dump station. Did not use local water due to signage suggesting that we boil the water. Bath house was nice with hot water and good water pressure. SL was good, facing SE with dish pointing north. Cellular did not work. Drove a lot to places in the area, but glad that we did not camp in Twillingate campground. Visited light house and area. Good coffee and scones at Crows Nest and Blue Barrel gallery and cafe. Excellent chowder and fish n chips at Sansome and sons. Great hikes at french beach and Spillers cove. Good visit to Pike’s, Toogood and Cobbs arm. Nice dinner show at NWI Dinner Theatre. Good music at Captain’s pub. Bought salmon and halibut at Waterside Seafood Market.
439 – Sanger Memorial RV park.
438 – KOA. Back again, this time site 70. Madeline and Michelle camped here for a couple of days. Went to a great walk at Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse, indigenous guide discussing local medicinal plants. Met up with Madeline and Michelle for Sharing Circle at the lighthouse with the same guide – Marcella. Went to dinner with M and M at Java Jacks restaurant. Took the boat tour at Western Brook Pond – beautiful area. Another tour at Green Point to discuss rocks, then drove up to Arches Prov Park. Good dinner at Black Spruce in Norris Point. Drove to Tablelands for a tour of the magma rock formation – drove to Trout Pond for picnic, then coffee and toutons at The Shed. Bought salmon at local seafood whole seller. Rained pretty hard for a day or two.
437 – Pistolet Provincial Park. Site 5. No services. Dump station. Road to campground and internally was pretty narrow and bumpy. Bath house was okay. SL was good. Cellular okay. Norsemen restaurant was really good. Norsemen Historic site – Unesco site – was very interesting. Good visit, somewhat wet, to St Anthony’s and the lighthouse – saw caribou at the Lightkeepers cafe – good coffee at Rebel Coffeehouse. Good ice cream and scones at the Dark Tickle Company – great crafts too. Met Madeline and Michelle at the Norsemen Historical Site – then again at several other places in St Lunaire and St Anthony – they are FTers in route from FL to WA.
436 – Lion’s Club Oceanside. Back-in site on the beach. 30-amps and water only. Dump station available. Power was on the lite side, so we had to be careful. Sites were somewhat tight, but we did not have neighbors. Bath house was just okay. Mostly coastal and flat route here. Beautiful the day we arrived, so we went a short distance into town – small little fishing village. No fresh fish available since shrimp and other species processed and shipped somewhere else. Picked up yummy baked goods at The Bakery – only open on Saturdays. Drove out to the NP on the point – found a herd of caribou near the light house – nice walk along one of the coastal trails. There was a wedding and reception at the Lion’s Club – we chose not to visit during the latter part of the reception. Rained over night and a lot of marine layer the 2nd day of our visit.
435 – KOA. Site 76. PT site with open skies. 30-amp FHU – 50 amp sites available, but was concerned about SL. SL solid. Cellular okay. Bath house was good. Partial view of nearby hills in the NP. Many hills on the drive to Gros Morne NP today. Nice scenery, but lots of fog and marine layer blocked some of the views.
434 – Barachois Pond Provincial Park. Switched from site 53 to 91 – first site as half moon shape with too many branches. No services. Bath house was okay. No SL nor cellular access. Roadway into and inside park was quite bumpy and full of pot holes. Beautiful park. Even though we had a sleeping berth on the ferry, we did not get much sleep. Drove out to Stephenville nearby. Had a great lunch at Wild Strawberry Creperie and Cafe. Drove along the beach before returning to the campground. We were planning on riding our bikes at the park before leaving for the day, but it rained quite a bit.
433 – Ferry from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland.
432 – KOA. Site 21-22. Upgraded to PT site. 30-amp FHU site. Tiered sites facing the bay. Even though the pole said 110 volts, the EMS was disconnecting our RV – decided to use the new back-up surge protector. Interestingly, we had to watch power use since the RV was not getting enough power to keep AC happy. TV kept rebooting. SL on pole, cellular was pretty good. Long drive today with lots of hills. Got propane and gas before we hit cape breton. Spent part of day shopping for stuff before Newfoundland. Drinks at Governors Pub and Eatery in Sydney. Dinner was really good at Black Spoon Bistro. Left campground around 8 pm to take the ferry.
431 – Elm River. Site 2 – was site 97 – could not make turn into PT site, so they upgraded us to 50am FHU. Open field. SL on pole. Cellular was okay. Bath house was okay, older, but clean. Drive was somewhat rainy, big hills from Cannontown. Toll road for a while. Could not fit into the last good priced gas station. Had a scare on front left slide – piece of weather stripping caused the two motor to be out of sync half way closing.
430 – Cannontown campground – national park. Site 29. 30-amps, water and sewer. SL signal really good, but performance a little slow – pointing to the left of the site. Cellular not too good. Bath house very nice. Paid 3 days NP fees – forgot about two NPs in NL for season pass. Rained as we arrived in campground – nice weather the next two days. Bought interesting cinnamon bun from Kelly’s Bake Shop in Alma. Visited Cape Enrage area before visiting Hope Rocks Provincial Park – walked amongst the rocks on the beach a low tide, then later at full tide. Went to Moncton visitor’s center to watch the tidal bore. Visited dickson falls and wolfe beach – saw tides come into the bay. Visited Hole Whale Brewery. Lobster way more expensive at 16.99 canadian per pound.
429 – Kiwanis Ocean Front Park. 30-amps, water and sewer. Site 30 – road in between RV and the bay. SL was good, cellular was not very good. Bath house was good. Rained quite a bit coming from Maine into Canada. Visited the town of St Andrews – very nice town along the bay. Drinks at St Andrews Brewing Co. Booked wrong night at William and Water – missed out on good farm to table restaurant. Rained 3rd day – did not do much. Time change – now 4.0 hours ahead of west coast.
We were pulled over at the border crossing in St Stephens going in NB. We had to put down the jacks, open all slides, and they searched everywhere inside the jeep and vista. We had to pay around 240 US for tariff taxes on all four bottles of distillery whiskies I have collected – border agents excused our wine and beer.
428 – Smuggler’s Den. Site 93. Back-in. FHU – had to boil the water due to possible contamination. Thought we had only one tree, but had two big trees. Nice bath house. Site pointing north, but SL pointing SE – times of buffering. Poor cell service. Acadia NP is an island with two pennisulas. Lots of carriage trails – rode bikes two times with lots of miles and hills. Island cruise with Sea Princess out of North East Harbor. Timed entry up Mt Cadillac – great views of the area. Live lobster at a local residence. Good coffee at Milagro Coffee – seems to be a local favorite. Went out back to Elliston for tire rotation at VIP Tires. Took e-bike at Bar Harbor Bikes to get a new TCD. Really good lunch at Peter Trout’s Tavern – gigantic haddock sandwich. Coffee at Salt Market Co.
427 – Seaswell Megunticook. In big section up front near the office. Back-in site. Sewer was backed up during dumping. Bath house was very nice – showers were remodeled. SL pointed back to site, but had good performance. Cell service was bad. Missed out on Rockport Lobster – needed to submit advance order due to limited supply. Good visits to Rockport, Camden and Booth Bay. Rockland was nice though. Took e-bike into shop to see if they could replace TCD, but they only had wireless version. Good coffee at Zoot Coffee. Good dinner at The Bouthouse Bistro.
426 – Bayley’s Camping Resort. Moved from C12 to C1 in south area. Site pointed east by south-east. SL good – peaked around the corner of trees. Cellular was not good. Cable was good. Excellent bath house. We should camp in the north area next trip. Really busy the 4th of July weekend – campground oriented around families and kids. Lots of amenities, activities and music. Went to Portland for a day with bikes. Parked at back cove and rode bikes around the bay into town. Nice town, especially the downtown area – cannot see much of the bay from the downtown due to docks. Pastries and coffee at Standard Baking Company. Drinks and gourmet popcorn at Portland Hunt and Alpine Club. Good lobster roll at Highroller Lobster. Drove down to Ogunquit and Kennebunkport – nice towns. Good scone and average blueberry pie at Bread and Roses Bakery. Lunch at Brix Brine and dinner at Old Vines Wine Bar. Rode bike on local trail. Took bikes into Orange Beach which is quite the beach town – drinks at Myst, ice cream at Fielder’s Choice, the bought lobster and steamers at East Grand Lobster Co. Good meal at Flatbread Company. Good lobster roll at Bite Into Maine.

425 – Wakeda. Site x13. Back-up site. FHUs. Bath house was not great. SL was good – dish pointed straight out. Cellular was not good. This was a seasonal site, but we were able to get a special site. Good visit to Portsmouth – nice downtown area – unfortunately, cannot see the bay from the downtown. Good drinks and food at Throwback brewery. Drove down to Newburyport – really loved the downtown and bay area. Good dinner at Bar 25. Good pastries and coffee at Elephantine Bakery. Coffee at Plum Island Coffee.
424 – Twin Mountains KOA. Site 85 – very nice site. Back-in site. SL was good, but pointed back towards the Vista. Cellular was not good. Cable was good for some channels. Bath house was not very good. Enjoyed visit to Tuckerman Brewing Co and Schilling Beer Co. Drove out to Littleton for the day – nice town – Pastries and coffee at Crumb Bum Bakery and visit to Shilling Beer Co on the river. Drove out to Franconia Notch SP for the gorge walk and to ride on the bike trail – around 16 miles RT and 800′ elevation gain. Drove on one of the scenic byways to Conway, looked at overlooks and visited a couple of falls.
423 – Cape Ann Campground. Site 14 – back in. All RVS over 30′ down by road. W and E only. Cell and SL good. Great view of the bay and wet lands. Bath house on bad side. Campground has lots of hill sites. Narrow roads. Weather was warm and humid. Really enjoyed Rockport and Manchester towns – Bracketts Oceanview. Drove into Salem – worth visiting but not great – walked the historic trail. Took train into Boston – nice walk on the Freedom Trail. Food and drinks at The Warren Tavern. Great Cannoli’s at Mike’s Bakery. Really good pizza slices and rice balls at Carmelina’s. Great dinner at the Azorean restaurant.
422 – Mystic. Sun Resorts. Back-in site. W and E only. 30-amps. SL good, cell poor connection. Bath house good. Campground had lots of amenities for families. Weather was warm and humid – rained. Really enjoyed the town of Jamestown. Met Ravik and his dog Shay at JB’s on the Water in Jamestown RI. Watched the sunset at Beavertail State Park and Light House. Enjoyed the walk around Narragansett – watching the surfers – local light house – coffee at Fuel nearby. Great ice cream at Brickley’s. Walked downtown Mystic and had snacks and drinks at Red 36 on the inner bay. Nice day visiting local winery.

421 – Coastal Acres. Back-in site. W and E only. Good SL but poor cell connection. Bath house was okay. No laundry. Drive into campground was narrow streets through town. Lots of seasonal campers. Weather was warm and humid – rained. Really enjoyed the town of Provincetown. Dinners at Nor’East Beer Garden and Strangers and Saints. Good beach day at Herring Cove beach. Rode bikes out to Race Point National Seashore. Took fast ferry, via Steamship Authority, to Nantucket. Really enjoyed the town. Drinks and snacks at B-ackyard BBQ and Nantaco. Rode bikes out to Siasconset – ice cream at Sconset Market. Breakfast bagels at Stubbys.
420 – Bourne Scenic. Site P14 – they gave us a beautiful site facing the canal – they say because our first time there – municipal campground. Back-in site. SL and cell service was okay. Many seasonal campers. Lots of amenities for the families. Great bike rides on both sides of the canal – visited the town of Sandwich. Walked around the town of Falmouth – great baked goods at Maison Villatte. Took bikes out to rail trail near Bristol. Visited saltwater vineyard. Breakfast at Bread and Roses – classic car show on Father’s Day.
Took Steamship Authority to Martha’s Vineyard. Enjoyed the visit to the island. Road our bikes from Oaks Bluff out to Edgarstown. Visited the painted cottages. Breakfast at Pie in the Sky Bakery. Lunch at Seafood Shanty.
419 – Newport RV Park. Back-in site. FHUs. Good SL and okay cell service. Access to site was rather goofy. Bath house was okay. Breakfast at Le Bec Sucre – great breads and pastries. Coffee at Sunset Cove. Bristol Sunset Cafe. Coffee Depot. Visited local winery.
Christine, via Rover, visited Felix twice. Flew out to Seattle and Oakland via Alaska Airlines from Logan. Getting to long term parking was really tough. Took last train to UW – stayed at the Watertown hotel – a couple of blocks from Cam and Meg’s apartment. Walked to meet up with Cam, Meg and her family at White Swan Public House. Watched Meg’s graduation. Met up with Meg and her family for dinner at Bamboo Sushi. Breakfast and afternoon snacks at Leon House. Breakfast at Portage Bay Cafe. Took Gram and Gramps to meet up with Graham for dinner at Saffron Indian restaurant and bar in Orinda. Took BART SF for coffee then drinks with Graham at Lost Resort and dinner with Graham and Kaya at Mandalay. Suzanne bought pastries at Maision Benoit in Danville. Met up with Jimmie at Philz Coffee in Sunnyvale, then dinner at Jimmie and Cat’s with Mike and Marsha and Jerry.
418 – Hidden Acres. Site 13. Back-in site – water and electric only. Beautiful site next to river. SL Really spotty and cell service minimal – free Tengo internet was good. Lots of activities for the families. Narrow internal roads inside campground. First time to CT. Visited Mystic and Stonington – great towns. Great bakery at Sifts. Dinner at Breakwater on the bay. Afternoon snacks at Taquerio. Road trip over to Niantic after driving thru Groton and New London – another visit to Sifts bakery. Nice drive over to Old Say Brook. Wine tasting at Preston Winery followed up by great ice cream at Buttonwood creamery. Nice bike ride on the rails to trails and really good med snack at Donut and Cafe in Colchester. Really long drive from Lake Placid – did not like the drive thru Hartford. Had three reservations – cancelled KOA, but missed the 3rd reservation given there was no paper trail.
